The team at S2i Communications would like to say a big well done to one of our clients! Along with 27 others, Tom Roche, Managing Director at SNP Security, has hiked, mountain biked and paddled his way across more than 100kms of unforgiving terrain on the NSW north coast as part of ‘The Smith Family Challenge’.
Now in its sixth year in operation, ‘The Smith Family Challenge’ is an annual event which has raised well over $1 million for disadvantaged children, with more than $330,000 this year alone. Roche said that he’s been lucky enough to be part of the challenge for five years and it’s something that he looks forward to.
“It’s a gruelling mental and physical test, but it’s a challenge that I relish and is just a small price to pay to ensure thousands of kids from around Australia get a quality education and a better shot at life,” says Roche.

SureSave’s new Executive General Manager, Michael Callaghan, has reaffirmed the insurer’s commitment to travel agents, announcing new initiatives, research and products to help make travel insurance easier for agents to sell and travellers to understand.
SureSave’s independent research into customers purchasing habits, revealed that a quarter of agents have opportunities to earn more commission by ensuring their customers don’t purchase the policy they worked hard to sell online.
The research also showed that 62% of travellers who recently booked a holiday with a travel agent also purchased the travel insurance policy recommended by that agent. However, 11% were not offered a choice of policy at all and another 14% said they later purchased the policy recommended by the agent online.
Callaghan said that “all insurance companies have to work harder at stopping the online leakage. We recognise from the research that agents are potentially doing the hard work in selling-in the benefits of a particular brand in store yet the insurance sale is made online.”

More than 50 Fastway Couriers clients, franchisees (and one lucky S2i Communications staff member) were treated to a day of exhilarating driving experiences at Taupo Motorsport Park, thanks to Fastway Racing.
Fastway Racing’s team of championship-winning drivers, Simon Ellingham, Hamish Ellingham and Jono Lester, were there alongside V8 Supertourers’ veteran John McIntyre of John McIntyre Racing. Of course, everyone was keen to see the real star of the show – the new Fastway Racing Porsche 997 GT3 Cup Car, co-sponsored by S2i Communications.
S2i Communications’ very own Jordan Cameron (pictured) was lucky enough to ride shotgun in the fire-breathing Porsche, along with Ross Hamilton, Director of e-Retail Distribution NZ, who described his 200kmp/h hot lap as “one of the coolest things (he’s) ever done.”
